Become an instructor

Why become a PSSM instructor?

Becoming a Mental Health First Aid instructor is much more than just an opportunity to share knowledge. It's a chance to become an agent of change, a pillar of support in your community. By sharing your skills, you become a valuable guide for those who need help, a catalyst for breaking down the barriers of stigma that still surround mental disorders.

How to become an instructor

To become an instructor, you must meet the following prerequisites and have successfully completed an instructor training course:

  • Hold a Standard and/or Youth Mental Health First Aid diploma
  • Have a degree in psychosocial, educational and/or health studies
  • Proven experience and a passion for delivering training courses
  • Have the ambition to run at least three courses a year
  • Showing respect and empathy for people living with mental health problems

If you meet these criteria, we invite you to apply by sending your CV and a cover letter.

Once your application has been accepted, you will be required to complete our instructor training course. This certification course will give you the tools and teaching skills you need to deliver the PSSM programme independently and professionally.
